Many are journal quilts made to specific criteria set by Contemporary Quilt, a special interest group within the Quilters Guild of the British Isles, to which I belong.
But I have also included some experimental test pieces.

Journal quilt Dec 2012; Silk, handwoven Japanese cotton fragments, silk chiffon, lichen (Evernia prunastri) and found jay feather, all overlaid with synthetic organza and closely quilted.
